Happy week 4 fellow DigPIN’ners. This week was really enlightening for me, mainly because I am just starting my research journey and I believe that the research-climate is changing. Economists are not the quickest to take up new approaches (sometimes we just like to rationalize the status quo). I had a fun time researching open access articles and I was shocked to see that (on sciencedirect.com) only 0.1% of econ articles related to “land use hedonics economics.” were open access at impactful journals.
I really enjoyed the readings for this week too. Specifically, the 10 Commandments of Twitter I felt were very “real,” because I sometimes feel pressure to always be in work-mode. I also thought it was interesting that the 10 Commandments of Twitter was written 6 YEARS AGO, but still relevant today. Good manners never go out of style :-).
To see my full post discussing open-access and economics, click here. It has been a great learning experience with you all, I will be taking many new ideas into this academic year. I’ll be making new blog posts on my website once I try these digital exercises, in case you’re interested in the implementation of these digital ideas.
